This Privacy Policy explains how Mova (“We”or “Us”)(the “Company”) collect, process, use and share your Personal Information. “Personal Information” herein is information about you which we collect when you sign onto our Website or Mova App or any API where this Privacy Policy is linked (the “Services”).

Introduction

We collect Personal Information as described below in the “Information We Collect” section for the business and commercial purposes described below under “Information Use.” We describe our disclosures of Personal Information, including why and to whom we make them, below under “Information Disclosure.”

As described in detail below, we “sell” or “share” (as defined in the Ghana DataProtection Act) certain categories of Personal Information and by using our services, you consent to the practices described in this policy. You may exercise your right to opt out of such disclosures by submitting your request to Mova through its App or Website.

1. Application of Privacy Policy

This privacy policy applies when you make use of the Mova App or Website to requestor receive products or services, including deliveries or cargo. Specifically, this policy applies if you;

1.1. Request pickup and delivery of goods, cargo or package deliveries using the Mova App or Website(“Users” or “Customers”)
1.2. Receive goods delivered by a requesting entity or individual through the Mova App or Website(“Recipient”)
1.3. Are engaged by the company to facilitate the transportation of goods, cargo or package deliveries, either are Couriers or Movers from a pickup location to a destination (“ServicePartners”)
1.4. Provide feedback or participate in surveys related to our services

2. Information We Collect

2.1  Personal Information

We collect the following types of Personal Information directly from you through direct provision or your use of the Mova App or Website :

a.    Contact Information: When you make use or interact with our services, we collect or obtain relevant contact details from you, including your full name, address, telephone number and email address.

b.    Account information: when you create a Mova Account, we collect your email, login name and password, phone number, payment method (including related payment verification information), profile picture, accessibility and preferences.

c.    Payment Information: If you make a request through the Mova App or Website, we collect your data concerning card details (credit/debit card details) and billing address.

d. Identification Information: We collect information concerning to any identification document you may provide (if required) including the Ghana Card, Voters ID or Passport Details.

e. User-GeneratedContent: We collect data that you provide during correspondence either through text or calls with Mova support or other inquiries such as Chat logs, call records, as well as ratings and comments/feedback posted on our platforms regarding our services.

2.2 Service Information

a. Trip/Order information: We collect information related to your service requests including pickup and delivery destination addresses, inventory of items to be transported, scheduling preferences, distance travelled, special instructions and statistics derived from past requests

b.   Communication Data: We collect information when you communicate with our Couriers and Movers through the Mova App.

2.3 Technical Information

We collect information about how you interact with the Mova App and Website including the device(s) you use to access our services. This includes 

a. Device Data: This includes your device’s IP address, type of device, type of browser, internet service provider, operating
system and any other unique device identifiers.

b. Usage Data: This shall also include activity information such as frequency of your usage and duration, access dates and times, App features or pages viewed, links you click and other interactions with our services, app crashes and other system activities.

c. Location Information: We may collect information about the location of your device. We use your location information to facilitate the prompt pickup and delivery of goods in accordance with your instructions and for analytic purposes. You can choose whether or not your device’s location information is shared with us by adjusting the settings on your device or browser or when prompted by the Mova App.

d. Cookies,Pixels and Other Tracking Technologies: When you interact with our services, Mova (and our partners, advertiser and third-party advertising parties) may automatically collect information about you using device identifiers, cookies, pixels, and similar technologies. We use this information for various purposes, including to make Mova function properly, understand how you use the Services, personalize your experience, and measure, manage, display, and customize the advertisements you see. Our partners, advertisers, and third-party advertising parties may also use these technologies to collect information about your online activity over time and across different websites or online services. You can choose adjust your preferences with respect to these technologies, such as accepting all cookies, some cookies or none at all or being notified when a cookie is set, bearing in mind that the option selected may affect your user experience.

2.4 Information received from third parties

We may receive Personal Information about you from third parties. These may include:

a.  Third Party Services: If you log in to the Services through a third-party service, we may receive some information about you and your use of that third-party service. For example, if you choose to log in to the Services with your Facebook or Google account, we may receive information from these companies, such as your name and email address.

b.  Other parties: We also may collect or receive Personal Information relating to you from our payment processors and partners, partners who assist us in fraud prevention or in connection with claims or disputes, our couriers or movers, partners with whom we may work for advertising measurement, attribution, and analytics, companies that may offer co-branded services or products, law enforcement, public health, and other governmental authorities, and publicly available sources.

3. Information Use

We collect, process and use your data to enable reliable, efficient and convenient transportation and delivery of your goods and cargo. We use the PersonalInformation we collect about you for the following purposes:

3.1 Providing the services: to operate and administer our services, including processing and fulfilling your requests.

3.2 Service improvements: to enhance the functionality, efficiency and quality of our services and to develop new products and features.

3.3 Communications: to communicate with you about our services, your orders and other inquiries you make with the Mova App or Website, including responding to your customer service queries.

3.4 Marketing: to market Mova, including by showing you advertisements for Mova services, promotions and packages on other websites and services.

3.5 Analytics: to analyze how users interact with our services and measure the effectiveness of advertisements.

3.6.Security and fraud prevention: to maintain and enhance the security of our services and detect, prevent and respond to fraud or other security incidents.

3.7. Legal compliance: to enable our compliance with applicable laws, regulations, or pursuant to legal processes or governmental request, including from law enforcement. We also use the data to investigate or address claims or disputes relating to the use of our Services.

4. Information Disclosure

We share your Personal Information in the following circumstances:

4.1 Service Partners: We share your information with our service providers including our Couriers or movers who fulfil your service requests. We will share account details such as your name and rating, pickup and delivery locations as well as any pertinent information such as special instructions, settings and preferences.

4.2.Payment Processors: We share your information with our payment processors to facilitate secure and efficient transactions. This will include sharing necessary account details such as name, payment method, transaction amount and any relevant billing information required to process payments.

4.3 Business Partners: We may share information about your use of our services with companies whose apps or websites can be accessed through Mova to offer you certain products, specialized services or promotions.

4.4 Insurance Companies: In the event of an accident, report or submission of a claim, we share data with our contracted insurance company for the purpose of handling or adjusting that claim.

4.5 Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information to comply with applicable laws, regulations, legal processes or governmental requests.

5. Data Security

5.1. We implement reasonable administrative, technical and physical security measures to protect the Personal Information we collect and maintain. We employ;
(a)  Secure servers and encrypted data transmission
(b)  Access controls to restrict unauthorized access to your information
(c)  Regulation audits and updates to our security practices

However, no system is completely securely and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your Personal Information.

6. Your Choices and Data Rights

As a User or Customer of Mova, you may have the following rights regarding your Personal Information;

(a) Access and Update: You can access and update your Personal Information through your account
settings or by contacting us.

(b)  Deletion: You can request that we delete your Personal Information, subject to certain exceptions.

(c)  Opt-Out: You can opt-out of receiving marketing communications from us by following the unsubscribe instructions
in those communications or by contacting us as indicated below.

(d)  Cookies and tracking technologies: You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings.

7. Data Rentention and Deletion

7.1. We may retain your PersonalInformation for as long as possible to fulfil the purposes for which we collected it and to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.

7.2. You may request that we delete your account through the Mova App or through our website and following the receipt of an account deletion request, we shall delete your account and data, except as necessary for the purposes of security, safety, fraud prevention or compliance with legal requirements or pursuant to there solution of an issue relating to your account.

7.3. Any requests for account deletion shall be fulfilled within 60 days of the receipt of the account deletion request, exception where retention is necessary for the reasons stated in 7.1 and 7.2 above.

8.  Third Party Websites

OurWebsite or Mova App may contain links to third-party websites and services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of those third-party websites and services. Please review the privacy policies of those third-party websites and services to understand how they collect and use your information.

9. Children's Privacy

Our Services are not intended for children under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect Personal Information from children under 18. If we learn that we have collected Personal Information from a child under 18, we shall promptly delete such information permanently.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make changes, we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy and post the updated Privacy Policy on our Website and App. Where significant changes are made, we will notify you in advance of the changes through our App or Website or through other means such as email. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about our privacy practices. Continued use of our services after an update would constitute consent to the updated notice to the extent permitted by law.
